The Museo di Roma - Palazzo Braschi

The Museo di Roma, following a fifteen years closure, finally reopens to the public. The restored Palazzo Braschi will host a temporary exhibition “The Museum tells the City’s story”. The exhibition is devoted to the most significant issues of Rome’s history and culture between 1600 and 1800, shown through a rich selection of 400 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, etchings and photographs, all of which recently restored and belonging to the Museum’s permanent collections.

The Victor Emmanuel Monument - Piazza Venezia
The Victor Emmanuel Monument will be entirely open to the public. The area of the Altar of the Homeland will house numerous exhibits focused on the birth of the unified nation, the legendary Garibaldi, the work of Benedetto Croce and the achievement of linguistic unity. The site also offers a selection of works by soldier-painters who fought in World War I, and an interactive visit of the Risorgimento Museums of Turin and Milan.

The Visitor Center of the Fori Imperiali
The first Visitor Center in Rome: a place that offers information, documentation and a meeting point for tourists and visitors, the starting point for a series of guided tours of the Imperial Fora and other sites. Set up in a delightful courtyard obtained by reclaiming a former municipal dump, the Visitor Center is provided with an information counter, an area for the display of archeological findings, information panels on the Imperial Fora, a room for video screenings, CD-ROM and consultation points.

Convent Trinità dei Monti - Piazza di Spagna
The church, the cloister and the refectory will be opened to the public for the first time. A thousand square metres of paintings by artists including Daniele da Volterra, Andrea del Pozzo and Perin del Vaga. The exhibit also offers a reconstruction of the history of the convent.

Theatre of Marcellus: rediscovered
A section of the city rediscovered, a fundamental nucleus of history and archeology made available once again to visitors and tourists. The new archeological area of the Theatre of Marcellus was inaugurated at the end of the 2002. Around 10.000 square metres that will from now on be open to the public for free.
